Richard Cohen, a writer/director based in Chicago, has written several feature-length screenplays including The Masters, a 2012 finalist for the Sundance Writer’s lab, as well as over a dozen short film scripts. Most recently he has written the screenplay The Certificate, a ‘satiric reverse MeToo’ feature film. He is the writer, director, and producer of the short films, Daisy , Behind Your Eyes, Sleeping, Song For Pluto, and Cicero in Winter, which was purchased by Reel International for domestic and international cable distribution, and starring Daniel J. Travanti . In addition, he has written and directed the experimental, actor-inspired series Microkosmos as well as his recent short film series Sold. Richard has written the one-act plays, Dating and Other Lives and Mother’s Day.
Currently, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, he is writing and directing The Corona Film Series, what he calls a short-film, fiction/not fiction series of personal, fictional responses to the pandemic.
